Purchasing
• Purchase materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost • Coordinate vendor activity and negotiations • Analyze trends in vendor pricing and sales activity to determine correct timing of purchases • Issue purchase orders and changes • Verify accuracy of computerized purchasing records • Review purchase orders for compliance with corporate policy • Participate actively in the Corporate Purchasing Managers Group Evaluate existing corporate purchasing policy and recommend changes as needed Evaluate existing and potential suppliers; recommend and implement changes in suppliers Make recommendations on the use of alternate materials Devise and implement methods to sell or dispose of dead and slow moving inventory Identify and optimize common inventories among facilities • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
